Premier League clubs ‘agree June 17 resumption’ as Project Restart gets green light

Premier League clubs have agreed to restart the 2019/20 season on June 20th following the latest meeting, according to the Telegraph. Clubs unanimously agreed to move to phase two of return to training protocol earlier this week and are pushing ahead with Project Restart. The season set to be completed from mid-June. Following the latest meeting between Premier League clubs on Thursday, the top-flight teams have agreed to a restart date of June 17. The first pair of matches will reportedly be on Wednesday, June 17, with Manchester City hosting Arsenal and Sheffield United clash with Aston Villa. The two fixtures were initially postponed due to the Carabao Cup final. That would be followed by a Friday night match, generally reported to be Tottenham vs Manchester United. Crucially, the end date for the season has reportedly been set for the weekend of August 1. Source: Telegraph
