Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg reveals why he didn't celebrate his Tottenham goal against Leeds

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has revealed why he did not celebrate his equaliser for Tottenham against Leeds United in their 2-1 Premier League win. Daniel James opened the scoring in the end of the first-half, however, already in the beginning of the second-half Hojbjerg equalised the score for Spurs. Later Sergio Reguilon's goal handed Antonio Conte his first Premier League victory as Spurs manager. After scoring his goal the Denmark international just turned around and waved his arms in the air to get his team-mates to follow him back to the centre circle.
"I was actually a little bit annoyed because we should have scored a couple of times before and the game wasn't technically going well," Hojbjerg said.   "So it was more like 'I scored but let's get back and get another one' because at home a draw I was never going to be celebrating. I only celebrate the wins and we did that."
Hojbjerg's reaction was quite different to that of Conte who celebrated wildly on the touchline and the midfielder understood why the head coach's response was different.
"Yeah but I understand why. Momentum goes to our side and this is when you have to execute and really try to kill the game when the momentum is on your side," he said.   "I think we did that. I thought we should have been more clinical and we won 2-1 which was so important."
