Peter Schmeichel names player Manchester United should build team around

Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel thinks his former side should build the team around Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese star has officially rejoined the Red Devils, after making a decision to leave the Serie A club Juventus this summer. United will be hoping to rival for trophies this term, while Schmeichel, who is regarded as the club's best ever goalkeeper, believes the best way for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side is to build the team around Ronaldo. "You saw him not long ago, he's still lightning fast," Schmeichel told BBC Match of the Day. "For me, he's so good even at 36 years of age, that you have to build something around him and not try to accommodate him in the current team. That's it."  Then he added: "I think as a Manchester United fan I was very, very pleased when we signed Bruno. He's been tremendous and Bruno is a world class player, but this is completely different. This is what we've been hoping for for a very, very long time. "The club goes into the market and only signs the best players in the world. I think this is the best transfer window since Sir Alex [Ferguson] left the club. This is where we sign top class players."
