Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola says the club is looking for some new names for the recruitment ahead of the new season. Premier League back-to-back champions’ manager still thinks some improvements could happen ahead of the new season.
Manchester City have already broken transfer record to sign Rodri from Atletico Madrid. Spain international is supposed to become the successor of Fernandinho.
“We are looking for some names,” Guardiola said.
“We shall see if the market is possible and the club believes we can spend that money, but if they don’t, we won’t spend it – Maguire is a Leicester player” he added.
Man City winger Leroy Sane has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich since the transfer window has opened. Guardiola has also given his comments on Germany international’s future amid transfer speculations.
“I know some people like Bayern Munich like to talk a lot about Leroy (Sane), but usually I never speak about players at other clubs.” Guardiola continued.
“It is his decision, it’s the same as what happened with Sancho,” Guardiola added.
“We want him, we are giving everything, but in the end, if he doesn’t want, what can you do? Nothing. We know each other, we have tried, we will see what happens.” Spaniard concluded.
