Paul Pogba is still Manchester United player thanks to Adidas

During the summer transfer window Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, however the transfer didn't happen. And Pogba is still United player thanks to Adidas as the German sportswear giants hold huge stakes in both the Premier League club and the United player. In 2016 Pogba signed 10-year boot deal with the Adidas worth a £31m. That followed Adidas’ massive £750m contract to be United’s kit makers until 2024. Those two investments always meant they would play a significant role in the summer transfer saga surrounding Real Madrid ’s pursuit of Pogba. And, according to an Old Trafford insider, it was Adidas' desire for the Red Devil’s player to stay in Manchester – for at least another 12 months.
The source close to the United said: “They acted as peacemakers between the player, his agent and the club. “Adidas were crucial in persuading all the parties to resolve their differences for another season.”
