EXCLUSIVE: "It is difficult". Oleksandr Zinchenko gives verdict on Premier League title race and speaks out on World Cup favorite

Oleksandr Zinchenko is currently following the World Cup 2022 off the field as his national team, Ukraine, missed out on the chance to participate in the tournament.

Qatar 2022 kicked off on Sunday, November 20, as the host country faced Ecuador and suffered a 2-0 defeat. In the group stages so far, Saudi Arabia and Japan have surprised as they celebrated victories over Argentina and Germany, respectively.

Zinchenko is following his teammates from home; he has, however, refused to name his favorite in the tournament.

"I support my Arsenal guys and wish them only success and no injuries. I won't name the winner because a lot of my friends play there," said the Gunners defender in an exclusive interview with VBET News.

The 25-year-old joined the Gunners during the summer transfer window from Manchester City; however, his season was cut short after he suffered a calf injury. Before the international break, Zinchenko made his return.

The Ukraine international has recently become VBET ambassador.

"I was happy to return to the field, as I have been struggling with discomfort for the last 2 months. Thank you very much to the Arsenal medical staff," said the defender.

Arsenal have been impressive since the start of the 2022-2023 season. Mikel Arteta's side are leading the league table, five points ahead of City. The Gunners also qualified for the Europa League round of 16 before heading into the World Cup 2022 break.

The Gunners will return to league action on Boxing Day with a game against West Ham, and Zinchenko thinks that Arsenal need to go game to game in the title race.

"We don't look that far, because there are a lot of games ahead of us, the Premier League is so good that any team can beat anyone here, so we need to go game to game, and then we'll see where we end up," Zinchenko told VBET News.

The intense schedule of football this season has caused a lot of injury problems and the Gunners defender is hoping that the players performing at Qatar 2022 will return healthy.

"I hope that all the guys who perform at the World Cup will return to the squad healthy. There will be a very busy schedule, so everyone needs to be healthy. We will do our best and even more to please our fans from game to game," the 25-year-old added.

The Premier League is unpredictable, and this season is no exception. Currently, Arsenal lead the table, City are second, Newcastle are third, and Tottenham round out the top four.

Speaking on the title race, Zinchenko said: "It is difficult to answer this question since the table is currently very tight."
