Newcastle star to miss 3-4 weeks due to an injury operation

Newcastle United star Matt Ritchie can miss 3-4 weeks as he has undergone an operation to overcome an ankle ligament injury, claims the Chronicle. The 30-year-old wing-back suffered an injury during Carabao Cup fixture against Leicester at the hands of Hamza Choudhury. He was expected to come back at the end of September, but won’t be able to play for weeks due to an injury setback. Lee Ryder of the Chronicle claims Ritchie is “walking able” and hasn’t yet been out of the next Saturday’s trip to Stamford. Newcastle clashes with Wolves at the end of October or with West Ham in November are possible comeback dates for the Englishman.
