Mikel Arteta has revealed the reason behind Ben White's substitution during the club's Carabao Cup game against Leeds United.
The Gunners beat the rivals 2 - 0, with Calum Chambers and Eddie Nketiah scoring the winning goals for their side.
Some fans were worried to see White taken off in the second half of the game, suggesting that the defender could have picked an injury.
However, speaking about the England international, Arteta has admitted that he decided to substitute the player due to illness.
“There is a bug going on,” the manager said.
“We lost Pablo [Mari] as well today who wasn’t feeling great and Ben had it as well for the last day or two. He wasn’t feeling great so we decided to take him off.”
