Mikel Arteta insists Arsenal new-boy William Saliba is progressing well. Arsenal signed the 19-year-old centre-back last summer from Saint-Etienne. It was expected that Saliba would be immediately integrated into the first-team following his loan at Ligue 1 side. However, much to the surprise of many, the France Under-20 international has yet to make a single appearance for his new side this season. But Arteta insists the teenager is progressing well. "He's in a much better place, " the Spaniard said of Saliba. "He's feeling a lot more confident around the place, his language is improving and he's starting to understand much better what we're doing physically. "He's played a few games with the under-23s which he needed because he didn't play any football in the last seven or eight months. Things are progressively getting better and better."
