Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has admitted that Reiss Nelson has impressed him during training, recently.
As reported by the
Evening Standard, Arteta has said he considered loaning out the English winger.
However, Nelson apparently wanted to stay and fight for his place, despite knowing the competition for starts in attacking areas.
And Arteta has said he has been impressed with Nelson’s application in training of late.
“Reiss was really convinced he wanted to fight to stay here,” said Arteta.
“We had a few plans in mind with Reiss. One of them was to send him on loan to get more minutes.
“But things change very quickly. If he starts playing and playing well and he does what he can do, why not? He could start to play more games.
“The reality is he has been really good in training. He wants to stay here. He wants to fight for his place.”
