Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided an update on David Luiz after the defender was forced off during their 2-0 victory over Newcastle on Sunday. Luiz returned to the lineup after having surgery on a knee problem.
The defender started from the first minutes against Newcastle however he was replaced by Calum Chambers at the 53rd minute.
“We don’t know,” said Arteta when asked if this injury could spell the end of the Brazilian’s season.
“He felt something in his hamstring so it’s not good news.
“He’s put such a shift to be back with the team for the last few weeks after the knee surgery and it’s a real shame.”
