Mikel Arteta provides Alexandre Lacazette injury update after limping off during Fulham draw

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided an injury update on Alexandre Lacazette after the player was forced off during the Gunners 1-1 draw with Fulham. Josh Maja opened the scoring at the 59th minute of the game from a penalty spot, while Eddie Nketiah, who replaced Lacazette, equalised at the 90+7'. During this season the 29-year-old had made overall 39 appearances in which he has scored 17 goals and provided 3 assists. Asked about the severity of Lacazette’s injury, Arteta told Sky Sports: "Yeah we don’t know. He felt his hamstring, so we don’t know how bad it is." Arteta added in his press conference: "We will have to see, he will have the scan probably on Tuesday and see the extent of the injury and the timeline for it. "I cannot tell you if it is going to be a week, two weeks, five weeks or six weeks. He felt something in his hamstring and we do not know the extent of it and we are all disappointed because we know the moment Laca was in." Questioned on whether, in hindsight, Lacazette should have been rested against Fulham, Arteta continued: "Yeah afterwards you can think about, but then we should have rotated as well Rob [Holding], we should have rotated Granit [Xhaka], we should have rotated Bukayo [Saka], Emile [Smith Rowe], a lot of players. You cannot change 10 players every game. "But that’s what happens with the schedule that we have. That’s why we have to rotate players. We had players who didn’t recover from the game on Thursday. "So we have to rotate the squad and it is what it is. But you cannot change 10 players every single game. And that’s the risk every time you repeat a player in the conditions they are playing at."   source - Metro / Join us on Telegram!/ Follow us on Twitter!
