Michael Owen makes Champions League prediction on Real Madrid vs Liverpool

Michael Owen has stated his prediction for the Champions League clash between Real Madrid and Liverpool. The two sides are set to face each other on Tuesday night, following the 2017-18 season, when the Reds were knocked out of the European top tier by Los Blancos. Now, Jurgen Klopp's side will be hoping to secure their place in the Champions League next stage. However, speaking about the clash, Owen has predicted a 1 - 1 draw for the two teams. "Well, it’s fair to say the these two have history. Both are special to me, so it’s always nice to see them go head-to-head. On this occasion, the pair are in the middle of indifferent seasons. However, Real Madrid have seemingly turned the corner after going 11 matches undefeated, winning 9," the pundit said. "A quick look at Liverpool’s away form tells you a different story to their league position as well. The Reds look much more comfortable on their travels, having won seven of their last eight. Interestingly, they are also undefeated on the road in the Champions League this season. "So, with the pair returning to better form, I think this will be tight. I do fancy Liverpool to score and given their solidness away from Anfield in this competition, I reckon they can take a draw home."
