Matthijs De Ligt is one of the most in-demand players in Europe ahead of the transfer window after captaining Ajax’s impressive young side to the Champions League semi-finals, however, he says he doesn't think he will cost as much as teammate Frenike de Jong.
De Jong will join Barcelona this summer on a five-year contract for €75m (£65.3m)
"Will I be more expensive than Frenkie? I don't think so, no," he told Ajax's social networks. "Normally teams spend more money on midfield players than defenders. I really don't know. It's up to Ajax - it's not something that I decide. We shall see."
The 19-year-old has impressed with performances and he has been linked with a move to Barcelona, Juventus, Liverpool, however, he still hasn't decided whether or not he'll leave this summer.
"I haven't made a decision yet, so I don't know [if I will stay]," he said. "I am only focused on the last games of the season for now. We still have a lot to play for so let's finish this season in a good way."
De Ligt is currently getting ready for the Champions League semi-final clash against Tottenham, on Tuesday, April 30.
