Martin Odegaard has hailed Arsenal academy youngster and fellow Norwegian George Lewis, labeling him a “talented guy”.
Lewis joined the Gunners in 2020, linking up with their Under-23s as a free agent after leaving Norwegian outfit Fram Larvik.
The 21-year-old's time at the Emirates began well, scoring for the U23s in a friendly against Spurs before also finding the net against Ipswich in the EFL Trophy.
But injuries have hampered his progress, and he has made just 11 appearances to date for Arsenal’s U23s, and is yet to make his first-team debut.
Odegaard, who took part in a
Q&A for Arsenal on Tuesday, spoke highly of his fellow Norwegian.
“I speak with George Lewis, obviously he’s Norwegian and we speak the same language so yeah, I speak to him every now and then,” said Odegaard.
“He’s been injured, I know he had a hard time so we speak and he’s a good guy. A talented guy as well.”
