Martin Odegaard in line to make Arsenal debut against Southampton

Martin Odegaard could be in line to make his debut for Arsenal when they take on Southampton on Tuesday after striking a deal to join the Gunners on loan from Real Madrid. According to The Athletic, the 22-year-old will undergo a medical on Monday, and should the deal be done by midday, he will be eligible to make his debut against the Saints. Odegaard won’t have to isolate when he arrives in London, as long as he returns a negative Covid-19 test, because of an elite sportsperson exemption. The 22-year-old had an impressive season on loan at Real Sociedad. He returned to Real Madrid in the summer.
