Manchester United offered Gareth Bale £22.3m-a-year deal

Manchester United offered Gareth Bale a contract worth nearly £430.000-a-week after tax to quit Real Madrid for Old Trafford. The Wales international fuelled speculation over his future following the 3-1 win when he expressed frustration over a lack of starts. According to reports, Gareth Bale earns €14m (£12.5m) net with incentives and there he was offered €25m (£22.3m) net per season. But the departures of head coach Zinedine Zidane, who frequently left him on the bench, and Cristiano Ronaldo resulted in the 28-year-old opting to remain at the Bernabeu. Gareth Bale scored three goals and providing one assist in three league games this season.
