Manchester United players aimed dig towards Lionel Messi during their Champions League clash at Old Trafford.
Messi was forced off the pitch in the first half after Chris Smalling’s arm collided with his face Smalling crashed into the Argentine with his shoulder before flying past him at speed; his arm then caught Messi in the face, a strong blow connecting with his left eyelid.
Messi left the field for treatment and to stop bleeding, and United fans used the moment to goad Messi.
They started chanting ‘Viva Ronaldo’ which has not been given many outings since the Portugal international left to join Real Madrid.
And United fans loved the little dig at Barca’s star man.
