Manchester United eye Diego Godin swoop

Manchester United are reportedly keen on signing Atletico Madrid centre-back Diego Godin in this summer’s transfer window, according to AS. United are believed to be in the market for at least one new centre-back ahead of their 2018/19 campaign, and move for Tottenham Hotspur’s Toby Anderweireld has gone cold in recent weeks. Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho has identified Godin as the perfect summer arrival as speculation surrounding the future of the 32-year-old gathers pace. Godin, who is currently representing Uruguay at the 2018 World Cup, will see his current Atletico deal expire at the end of next season, and could be available for £18m this summer.
