Manchester City stars pay tribute to Vincent Kompany ahead of his departure after 11 years

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany is set to take over as player-manager at former club Anderlecht after spending 11 years at City. He capped off his time at the club by scoring a crucial wondergoal against Leicester in their penultimate Premier League match, before helping seal the domestic treble with the FA Cup triumph over Watford on Saturday. And now his Kompany’s teammates have expressed their gratitude to the soon-to-be former skipper by posting on social media. His teammates Kyle Walker said: "From skip to gaffer, the man has it all!! Since I walked through the door Vinny has been amazing to me." https://twitter.com/kylewalker2/status/1130084699873980418 A number of other City players and staff rushed to show their support for Kompany's decision. Bernardo Silva wrote on Instagram: "THANK YOU CAPTAIN! What a pleasure to share the dressing room and learn from you over the last 2 seasons. We’ll miss you."
Fellow defender Benjamin Mendy said: "Oh captain, my captain. Thanks for everything u taught me, and all the attention and advices you gave me. A real honour."
