Manchester City are weighing up a move for Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake as an alternative to Harry Maguire.
City are interested in Leicester centre back Maguire but Manchester United are leading the race for the England international.
As reported by
L'Equipe, City may now turn their attention to Ake, who would be a considerably cheaper option at £40m.
Ake, 24, has played over 100 Premier League games, having featured in the division for Chelsea, Watford and Bournemouth.
Although Ake is usually deployed at the heart of the defence, he is also capable of playing at left back or as a defensive midfielder if required.
