Manchester City are leading the race to complete the signing of Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos, according to Spanish publication Diario AS. Ramos is set to be a free agent in July.

Real Madrid have confirmed that club legend Sergio Ramos will leave Santiago Bernabeu after 16 long years upon the expiry of his contract at the end of the month. The 35-year-old will depart the Los Blancos as the greatest defender to ever play for the club, having joined from Sevilla back in 2005.

Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain also vying for his signature, but Ramos’ representatives have been in contact with Manchester City for some time to reach an agreement.
