David Silva will be handed the captain’s armband for his final season at Manchester City.
The Spaniard has revealed he will end his career at the club at the end of the campaign.
And following Vincent Kompany’s departure the club have decided to reward the 33-year-old with the armband.
The veteran is now City's longest serving player since his £25million move from Valencia in 2010.
He will be regarded as one of the club's most successful and greatest players with 10 pieces of major silverware.
Manchester City have yet to officially announce their new captain.
