Guardiola’s side were the first team to win back-to-back league titles in over a decade and in an interview with Catalan outlet ara, the City boss was asked if he felt Liverpool were jelous of their domestic success.
He replied: ‘Winning the Premier League is very hard, and I speak from experience.
‘This is the first time in eleven years that a team has won two consecutive league titles, which Barcelona has done many times [in La Liga]. ‘I am certain Liverpool are eager to win the Premier League. ‘Liverpool have not won the league for 30 years, and we all saw what a team Liverpool were this year.’
While Liverpool are planning a quiet summer, City are closing in on their first major signing of the summer. Rodri is expected to arrive in a £62.5million from Atletico Madrid, as the Spanish side confirmed the signing of Real Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente.
