Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak is reportedly keen on signing Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland this summer, as the club are prepared to make a £100 million bid for the Norwegian forward.
City are in hunt for a replacement for Sergio Aguero this summer, with the Argentine nearing the end of a decade-long spell in the Premier League.
And according to
the Mirror, Manchester City aim to sign Haaland in a £100 million deal, with chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak '
willing to sanction' a move. Head coach Pep Guardiola believes that winning the Premier League title again this season will help them secure a player that he sees as Sergio Aguero's '
long-term replacement'.
The report also highlights the issue of the player's release clause, which doesn't seem to be making City want to wait an extra year. Despite the £68 million clause due to come into effect in just over 12 months time, officials at the Etihad Stadium are '
not prepared to wait until then' and feel '
increasingly positive' about their chances of signing the striker this summer.
Haaland has been spectacular for Dortmund this season, having scored 22 goals and provided 5 assists in his 21 games for the Bundesliga outfit.
