Barcelona star Lionel Messi is keeping Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain waiting over his decision regarding his future. In December, Messi said, he would not enter discussions with other clubs until the end of the season.
The Argentine forward has kept his promise and according to Goal, has not entertained a single talk with external parties. That includes opposition players and managers, including Pep Guardiola.
The 33-year-old has even kept himself out of the upcoming presidential election. Barcelona remain hopeful of keeping Messi at the club but the latest debate will have done little for their chances.
“Without Leo, we couldn’t aspire to win very much,” Koeman said. “We have known for a very long time that he is the best player in the world, he has done so much for this club and is decisive. We have to respect everything Messi has done. If this was someone from the club they cannot have a future here.”
