Liverpool eye transfer of promising Dutch defender who will follow in van Dijk’s footsteps

Liverpool are eyeing a move for teenage Dutch defender Xavier Mbuyamba, who will follow in Vigil van Dijk’s footsteps. The 17-year-old has quickly made an impression in the MVV Maastricht side and has attracted interest from Europa top clubs, including Liverpool, Celtic, Bayern Munich, FC Porto and  Chelsea. Mbuyamba is already on trial with Chelsea - but Liverpool are keen to swoop and take advantage of the Blues' transfer ban which could cause them to miss out on the talented youngster this summer. If Mbuyamba joins Liverpool he could follow in his compatriot Virgil van Dijk’s footsteps.

Bayern Munich have been granted permission to agree a deal for Leroy Sane
