Who is the leading candidate to replace Laurent Koscielny as Arsenal captain?

Arsenal captain Laurent Koscielny has refused to travel on the pre-season tour of the USA after the Gunners rejected his transfer request, and he is now facing disciplinary proceedings. Koscielny joined Arsenal from Lorent for about £10m in 2010 and has made 353 appearances for the club, leading the side intermittently before being appointed permanent captain years ago. Arsenal were in talks with him over a new contract, however, it is understood the defender was unhappy with their offer. Koscielny is training in London while the club considers his punishment for refusing to tour. Granit Xhka is in pole position to replace him as the Arsenal captain, according to The Telegraph.  Xhaka wore the armband on occasions last season as one of Unai Emery’s five captains. Petr Cech and Aaron Ramsey have both left the club and that leaves Xhaka and Mesut Ozil as the two reaming players in the core leadership group.
