Laurent Koscielny sends message to Unai Emery as he closes in on a return

Ahead of his return Arsenal injured player Laurent Koscielny has sent a message to head coach Unai Emery. Koscielny has been sidelined with the Achilles injury he suffered in last season's Europa League semi-final second leg away at Atletico Madrid. Because of the injury the player missed France’s successful World Cup campaign in the summer. However, his rehabilitation is in the final stage so, he could be back to full training next month. Koscielny’ deal at the Emirates is due to expire at the end of next season and it’s still unclear whether the player will be able to play at the same level he was operating at before the injury and provide competition to Sokratis, Shkodran Mustafi and Rob Holding. The centre-back appears determined to finish his career at north London and expressed his wish in a message to Unai Emery. "I want to continue at Arsenal. I do not know what level I'm going to be at”, Koscielny told Canal+. “I haven't resumed training, but I want to fight."
