Arsenal is once again interested in signing Houssem Aouar from Lyon.
The 23-year-old was on the Gunners' radar for much of last summer, as the club searched high and low to bolster their attacking midfield options.
According to reports in the international media, Arsenal are edging closer to sealing a deal for the talented midfielder.
And amid the links Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne has once raved about the Lyon star following a clash between City and Lyon in the Champions League.
De Bruyne, as quoted by the Manchester Evening News, said: "Lyon have a great team. I don't follow the French league as much as other leagues, but if I have to pick one player that has impressed me from Lyon, it would be Houssem Aouar.
"He was fantastic."
Besides De Bruyne, Zinedine Zidane has also hailed Aouar, as he was once linked with a move to Real Madrid.
Zidane was asked if there was any substance in the rumours and he admitted that his fellow countryman is a "great player."
"I don’t know what information you have,” Zidane said in October last year when asked if there was anything in the reports linking Aouar with a move to the Bernabeu.
"He is a great player, I know that. Maybe one day he can play for Real Madrid, but right now we have this squad and we’re going with this squad."
