Kante, Mendy: Thomas Tuchel provides latest injury updates ahead of Champions League final

Chelsea are set to face Manchester City in the Champions League final on Saturday, May 29. Ahead of the match Thomas Tuchel has talked to the press and provided injury updates on N'Golo Kante and Edouard Mendy. Kante was forced off against Leicester last week and missed the Aston Villa clash on Sunday due to injury. While Mendy was subbed during yesterday's game by Kepa Arrizabalaga and Tuchel was asked about the duo's fitness ahead of the crucial match. "We will just put him in training when the game starts on Saturday and not speak to doctors and physios or changing tactics. Sounds good to me," said Chelsea boss on Kante. On Mendy, Tuchel said: "The update is we still have hope he joins training on Wednesday and the group. He made huge improvement with the management of pain. So we need a further update on Wednesday but we hope to have him back. "Edou will play if he's fit. If he's not fit on Wednesday, we will try on Thursday, and then Friday. We will take responsibility for this decision. We have trust we have a strong guy on the bench in Kepa if he can't make it. The images don't show the injury is too serious so we are positive."
