Jurgen Klopp sends warning to Liverpool’s players ahead of Merseyside derby

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has warned his players must be ready to put their part over the festive period. The Reds face off Everton in the Merseyside derby on Wednesday night, one of a possible 11 fixtures in the next month for the Premier League leaders. "I have never wavered from my belief that you can only be successful in the modern game if you have a squad of players all of whom recognise their importance and value," he writes in the matchday programme. “We are in the period now where every minute on the pitch of each player is just so valuable to us. If any member of our squad lessens their contribution by even the smallest of percentage, for the shortest amount of time, we will achieve nothing." A young Liverpool side will play against Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup and Klopp believes all of his squad are ready to take their chance. “I see the influence that all of our players have on what we do on a day-to-day basis. I get that those outsides of Melwood don’t have the same opportunity that my coaches and I have. But in the coming days, weeks and months that will of course change. "And I have total belief the contribution of the entire squad will only enhance us, because of what I see on the training pitch. “There are so many players in our ranks who, until now, I have no reasonable explanation to give for why they haven’t started more matches. So many have deserved to and my admiration for them as people and professionals could not be higher.” Source- The Mirror
