Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has given an injury update on Jordan Henderson and Joel Matip, following the club's defeat to Arsenal in Saturday's Community Shield.
The Reds drew 1 - 1 at Wembley, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Takumi Minamino scoring for their sides respectively. The Gunners won the clash as the club scored five of their penalties in the shootout, beating Jurgen Klopp's side with a 5 - 4 score.
After the clash, Klopp was asked for an update on Henderson and Matip. And speaking to
Liverpoolfc.com, the club boss said:
“For that, we have to see when he [Henderson] trains.
“I think Joël and Hendo will be in parts of team training next week and we will see. Of course, the longer they have the better the chance is, but I don’t know in this moment.”
Liverpool will be on action for their next official game on September 12, when they face the newly-promoted Leeds United in the Premier League.
