Jurgen Klopp frustrated after Liverpool board refused to sign £100m defender

Jurgen Klopp has reportedly left annoyed when Liverpool board refused to sign Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli this January. The Reds are in major defender crisis with Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip all injured. The German manager has been forced to play Jordan Henderson and Fabinho as centre-backs, who both are midfielders. According to The Sun, Klopp has grown ‘increasingly frustrated’ with Liverpool’s transfer policy and is ‘annoyed’ that the club did not approve a deal to sign Koulibaly from Napoli in the January window. The Senegal international has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, but Napoli have stood firm over their £100 million valuation. The report claims that Klopp ‘made it clear’ to Liverpool’s hierarchy that Koulibaly was his top target. The Merseyside club are going through a tough time, having lost two consecutive games at Anfield. Liverpool's upcoming match is on Saturday against Leicester. Source- Metro Join us on Telegram!
