Jose Mourinho backed to make Real Madrid swap deal

Former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson believes Tottenham should utilise Real Madrid’s interest in Christian Eriksen by aiming to sign Gareth Bale. Eriksen’s contract with the Spurs expires at the end of the season, so the contract is likely to be signed. Meanwhile, Bale is ready to leave the Catalan giants, following the club boss Zinedine Zidane’s criticism towards him. Recently it was reported by El Desmarque, that Tottenham are preparing to offer £25.7m (€30m) plus Christian Eriksen to bring Bale back to the club. And Robinson thinks Bale would be a "perfect fit" for Mourinho rather than Eriksen, who doesn't enjoy his playing time with the Spurs. He told Football Insider: "I think they should try to get him if they can. I think if Eriksen is going to go to Real Madrid, I think that would be the perfect deal for Tottenham and Tottenham supporters. He’ll be the perfect fit for Mourinho, he’d give the whole place a lift, rather than have Eriksen who clearly doesn’t want to be there. He’s sulking and he’s not happy, it looks like he is going to want to leave. To get someone of Bale’s quality in, as part of a deal, if that’s possible then it’ll be great."
