Joe Gomez on why he loves the Merseyside derby

Liverpool centre-back Joe Gomez  has stated that he loves playing in the Merseyside derby, regardless of what competition the game takes place in. Jurgen Klopps's side are set to face Everton on Sunday in the FA Cup at Anfield. The Reds are focused on the Premier League and claiming the title, despite having insanely busy schedule this December. However, Gomez appears to be a player that wants to play today, as he has outlined his love of the derby in an interview with Sky Sports. “For me, I love every derby and it is a special game, every time,” said Gomez. “Regardless of whether it is a Premier League game or not, we go into it looking to win and I think that is self-explanatory. “That is something that we look forward to and whatever will be will be. Everyone wants to play. “There is no telling what the gaffer will do but we are used to the quick turnaround now.
