Germany national team manager Joachim Low has slammed the “vicious” challenge on Leroy Sane, who limped off in the final minutes of Die Mannschaft’s 1-1 friendly draw with Serbia on Wednesday night.
The match was almost marred by an X-rated late tackle from which Sane was lucky to escape serious injury.
Serbia debutant Milan Pavkov was shown a straight red card for the challenge high on Sane’s ankle, which led to him being substituted moments before the final whistle.

"It was a vicious foul," he said after the match.
"Sane was lucky and got away with not getting hurt, but such fouls can break bones."
