Jamie Carragher has insisted Hugo Lloris was ‘awful’ again for his side after a 3-0 defeat to Manchester City. The Premier League leaders were too good for the North London outfit, as Carragher was also critical of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg for being ‘very clumsy’ when he gave away a penalty inside the opening 20 minutes.
“It’s clumsy, very clumsy (from Hojbjerg to give away the pen),” said Carragher. “The goalkeeper maybe actually disappointed in that (getting a hand to the penalty). It’s so clumsy (from Hojbjerg). He’s actually remonstrating with the referee. I mean what’s he doing?
On Man City’s second goal he added: “Hugo Lloris, who was awful in midweek, hasn’t been much better today. He should have saved the penalty. And he should have saved that as well. On his (Gundogan’s) weak foot. He toe-pokes it really. He’s just not strong enough to keep it out. Very reminiscent of his performance in midweek.”
