Jose Mourinho explains why Tottenham suffered 3-0 defeat at Manchester City

Jose Mourinho has explained why Tottenham suffered another defeat in the Premier League, this time in the hands of Manchester City. Rodri's penalty strike and Ilkay Gundogan's brace handed Pep Guardiola's side their 16th win in a row this season and secured a top position in the Premier League once more. After the match, Spurs boss gave his verdict on his side's performance, claiming that " a fresh team" played against "a very tired team." When asked what he made of the match on Saturday, Mourinho said: "A fresh team against a very tired team, but we started the game very very well, completely controlled it. 1-0 could give us that fuel that you need when you are specially tired like the boys were. "And then one more of these modern penalties, as I called them, to put us in a difficult situation. But, I'm very very happy with the players' attitude. I had guys on the pitch that played two hours a couple of days ago, they gave everything. "Of course, we had guys in difficulty. Lucas (Moura) was the one that I took at half-time, but I had other guys on the pitch in such a diffucult situation, but brave attitude, great dignity. Of course losing 3-0, a team that is not united, a team that is not together, would give up and probably would be punished in a way. "We are a team that didn't deserve it at all, but I saw guys, like Harry (Kane), Pierre (Emile Hojbjerg), Ben (Davies), just to tell three names, I could give you five six or seven, give you everything. "So I have nothing to say against my players, not even a couple of defensive mistakes, that are always present, but I cannot complain with the attitude of the boys."
