"I hope I'm wrong on that": John Terry makes worrying claim on Virgil van Dijk

John Terry has suggested that it could take Virgil van Dijk some time to return to his best due to the long-term absence. However, he also added that he hopes the Reds defender can prove him wrong. The Dutch international has been out of action since picking up a knee injury against Everton back in October 2020. He has missed a total of 45 games due to fitness issues. “It’s a big injury. I think it’s going to take time and settle. I hope not. I hope I’m wrong on that but I think he’ll need bleeding into that team and managed throughout the team,” Terry told Stadium Astro (24:10). Now Van Dijk is back to the first-team squad as he helped Jurgen Klopp's side secure a 3 - 0 win over Norwich City in the Premier League first game of the season.
