'I decided to fight': Crystal Palace man reveals he stayed for two reasons

Christian Benteke has spoken about two reasons why he decided to stay at Crystal Palace for this season. After the end of 2020/21 campaign, the striker's contract was about to expire in June. However, he signed a new two-year deal and stayed at Palace. Speaking to Sport/Voetbalmagazine, the 30-year-old admitted he never had any intention to leave the Eagles.
“I have always felt the confidence of the club and I had no interest in leaving the club at all costs. I decided to fight back and keep working hard. And I’m glad it paid off.   My first argument, separate from the conversation I had with the chairman, was my physical readiness," said Benteke.
He also added another reason for his stay at South London.
“I also wanted to stay here for family reasons, as my children have been attending school in London for a few years now.”
The Belgian enjoyed a brilliant end in last campaign, scoring 7 goals in 13 Premier League appearances.   Source - tbrfootball Join us on Telegram!/ Follow us on Twitter!
