Pundits Perry Groves and Jermaine Beckford have tipped Tottenham to sign Brentford star Ollie Watkins as a back-up alternative to Harry Kane this summer.
The 24-year-old, who has impressed last term with the Bees, has been linked with the move to North London club, with Jose Mourinho's side eager to improve the squad for the next season.
And amid the transfer links, Groves and Beckford heavily recommended to go for the English professional, claiming that he would be a "raw" and "unbelievable" signing for Daniel Levy.
“He’s raw, he’s got potential, he’ll be patient, he’ll get chances at Spurs, he can learn off one of the best, in Harry Kane, and if Kane moves on or gets injured, Watkins will be there,” said Groves to
talkSPORT.
“I know he would want to play [and not be second-fiddle to Kane] but you can’t turn down the chance to go to a big club, as much as it pains me to say that about Tottenham.”
Beckford then added:
“He’s 24 years old, and if you look at the way he plays, he’s very quick, very strong, his positioning is really good, his finishing is brilliant and his work rate is unbelievable.
“He’s very good in the air, as well. He ticks all of the boxes. For me, it’s a no-brainer.”
