Henrikh Mkhitaryan compares Manchester United with Arsenal as the liberty at Emirates is far from what he saw at Old Trafford

Following his move to the Emirates Arsenal midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan has spoken about how liberating it felt to get away from Manchester United and the style of football that had been introduced at Old Trafford by Jose Mourinho. Mkhitaryan admitted that he preferred the offensive style that Arsenal are known around the world for and it’s something he expects to continue under Emery. “Arsenal have always played offensive football,” he said. “Under Jose, the [Manchester United] team was playing a bit differently. But I’m not blaming anyone, I’m not criticising anyone, it’s just a different philosophy. I can just say I’m enjoying myself more here than I was in Manchester. “The club have done a good job, they knew who they were going to sign in Unai Emery. They knew him, they knew he was going to play offensive football so that’s why they signed him. “At the moment it’s too early to say [how Arsenal will do] because we didn’t play an official game yet and the games we are playing are just friendlies - you cannot compare friendly games to official ones. “At the end of the season when everything is done, at the end of the season we can say it was a good choice or a bad choice, that things worked well or very bad. Now is still not the time to say anything.”
