Henrikh Mkhitaryan feels comfortable with his former team-mates at Arsenal after convincing to join him

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is one of three Borussia Dortmund players who are currently playing in north London. The Armenian international was the first to arrive in a swap deal that took Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United. Mkhitaryan’s move was followed by Aubameyang’s transfer and now Greece international centre-back Sokratis has joined his former team-mates. Mkhitaryan , who is currently in Singapore with Arsenal, admits that it’s a nice feeling to have his former Dortmund teammates together again at the club. “It’s always nice to play with your old team-mates, with Aubameyang and Sokratis, he said. “We’re all looking forward to the new season and we’re going to try to do our best to help this team reach the top four of the Premier League. “I am always in touch with my old team-mates, it doesn’t matter whether it is in Dortmund, Shakhtar, Manchester, I am in contact with them and it’s always nice to talk to them to know how things are going in their lives.” When asked whether he played a part in convincing both Aubameyang and Sokratis to join him at the Emirates, the Arsenal playmaker added: “Of course, when I came to Arsenal and I heard they had the opportunity to come here I was just convincing them: come to the club because I knew they would fit in well. “I was messaging them, yes, but I wasn’t the guy who was having to buy them.” Mkhitaryan has also revealed that he had no idea that Arsenal manager was going to change but he hopes that they are going to have a good season. “It will be easier, he said. “Why? Because I am starting the season with this team and obviously with the new manager you understand more of what he is asking of you and the new playing style he wants to bring to Arsenal. It’s going to be a good season for me and the club. “I had no idea that the manager was going to change. You know in football everything happens very quickly and you don’t know what can happen tomorrow or after one month or after six months. “But when I came to this club I felt the warmth of this team is really different, it’s like a family and everyone is taking care of you. It’s a shame to see Arsene Wenger leaving the club but this is football and you have to move forward.”
