Harry Maguire has revealed his ambition to become Manchester United captain after joining the Reds during this summer from Leicester City.
Currently Ashley Young is the club’s captain and the alternative option is goalkeeper David de Gea, if Young isn’t in the squad.
Maguire has revealed that before becoming a captain he wants to improve his leadership qualities on the pitch.
“It’s something I still want to improve on, my leadership qualities on the pitch and especially my talking,” Maguire said, as reported by the Star.
“I want to demand more from the players, demand standards, but I’m obviously not concentrating on that at the moment. I’m fully focused on improving the team and getting this club back to where it should be.”
The 26-year-old defender has made 7 appearances so far for the club during this season.
