Harry Maguire lucky to avoid red card against Chelsea, agree Roy Keane and Jamie Carragher

Roy Keane and Jamie Carragher agreed Manchester United captain Harry Maguire was fortunate to have avoided a red card against Chelsea. Chelsea were in action last night, but it was not an ideal result for Frank Lampard’s side as they suffered 2-0 defeat to Manchester United. Goals from Anthony Martial and Harry Maguire sealed the win. Maguire was lucky to remain on the field when appearing to kick out at Michy Batshuayi but did not pick up a red card. Reacting to the decision, Keane said: “He’s a lucky, lucky boy. Maguire, maybe because it’s his personality, a calm lad, but he definitely kicks out.” Jamie Carragher agreed, saying: “Yeah, I think it’s a red card. The referee can’t see it, that’s got to go to VAR. It’s the inconsistency that frustrates people. It’s not gonna go away, different people using it. But Harry Maguire’s a lucky boy.” Source: Metro
