Giorgio Chiellini has bravely confessed that he cursed on Bukayo Saka before the youngster stepped up to take the decisive fifth penalty in EURO 2020 final match.

The Italian player has revealed a couple of days later that he whispered the word ‘Kiricocho’ while Saka was taking the penalty.

Chiellini was asked whether he really used this curse, and the veteran promptly admitted with a smile on his face.

‘Ciao, Cristiano,’ he told a reporter. ‘I confirm everything to you. Kiricocho!’

‘Kiricocho’ is a term that originates from South America, and is believed to translate into English as ‘curse you’ or ‘jinx’.
