Michael Owen has reacted to suggestions that Bukayo Saka was too young to take a penalty in the Euro 2020 final shoot-out against Italy.
Arsenal winger's penalty shot was saved by Azzurri goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, securing the Italians victory over England in the European Championship.
Earlier this week Roy Keane criticised England national team boss Gareth Southgate and the senior players for allowing Saka to take the penalty.
"You cannot let a shy 19-year-old go up in front of you," he said.
However, Owen has another view on the matter. He took to Twitter to share his honest thoughts, writing:
"So much to debate following #EURO2020 but I simply can’t have this “too young at 19” theory to take a penalty. In fact, if my experiences are anything to go by it’s easier being young! Fearless, confident, no previous scars etc."
