Gary Neville sends warning message to Liverpool on Premier League title rivalry with Manchester City

Gary Neville has sent a warning message to Liverpool over Premier League title rivalry with Manchester City. The Reds are on their way to win the first-ever Premier League trophy in the last 30 years. Meanwhile, the Citizens have suffered a lot this term, following their successful seasons in the Premier League. However, Neville has warned Jurgen Klopp's side that after a hard season their rivals will be more determined than ever to bring back their crown. He said: "My main criticism of Manchester City in the early years of them winning titles was I always felt that after they had won it, they all relaxed. Whereas under Pep you could see after the first one he wanted more. He did an interview with us where he said he knew his players would like him less the next season as he was going to be so demanding to get them back to those levels of the season. When we won the Champions League in 1999, we didn’t get back to those levels the next year. We wanted to win back-to-back Champions Leagues but you have to go to the next level. You can’t just repeat your performance because everybody has seen that, you have to go above it. Liverpool are capable of doing it but they will have a very angry Manchester City and Pep Guardiola chasing after them."
