Gareth Southgate responds to rumours of row with Jose Mourinho over Harry Kane

Gareth Southgate has responded to rumours of club-versus-country row with Jose Mourinho over Tottenham striker Harry Kane. The 27-year-old was a 66th-minute substitute in England’s 2-1 Nations League win over Belgium on Sunday after being named on the bench due to muscle fatigue. However, Three Lions manager could risk the wrath of Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho by starting Kane in Wednesday’s Nations League clash with Denmark. Kane has already played eight matches since the start of the 2020/21 campaign, more than any of his England teammates. Southgate said: “That is not the conversations we have been having with Spurs medically, and not conversations we have been having in the camp. “He has not had an injury, he was feeling delayed muscles soreness, which can happen to athletes. “We don’t risk players, my priority is always the welfare of players.” Source- talkSPORT Join us on Telegram
